How to Enable or Disable the 3D ICU Environment
These instructions explain how to manually enable or disable the 3D ICU environment by editing the configuration file on a Windows computer.
Disable 3D ICU (Turn OFF)
- Close the CALS / simulation software completely.
- Open File Explorer.
- Click the address bar at the top, type %localappdata%\cals, and press Enter.
- Locate the file named: ComputerName - OpeningScreen.ini (ComputerName is the Windows computer name).
- Right-click the file and select Open with → Notepad.
- In Notepad, find the section labeled [Misc]. (Tip: Press Ctrl + F and search for 'Misc').
- Under the [Misc] section, find the line for 3D ICU.
- Set the value to: 3D ICU = FALSE
- Click File → Save.
- Restart the software.
Enable 3D ICU (Turn ON)
Follow the same steps above, but under the [Misc] section set:
3D ICU = TRUE
Save the file and restart the software.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the 3D ICU line does not exist, add it manually under the [Misc] section.
- If the file will not save, right-click the file → Properties → uncheck Read-only → Apply.
- Alternatively, open Notepad as Administrator and then edit the file.
